Welcome to the Nola Creative Arts Studio in Downtown Cheboygan

Nola Creative Arts is an art studio and gallery for Cheboygan artist Christine Nola. Christine Nola is an acrylic and watercolor painter whose work celebrates landscapes, nature, and architectural forms. Her paintings balance expressive color with thoughtful composition, capturing the beauty of her favorite place — Northern Michigan.

A teacher by nature, Christine is passionate about sharing the joy of painting, guiding others with patience, encouragement, and a hands-on approach that makes art accessible and inspiring for painters of all levels. Christine started teaching Paint & Sip classes across Northern Michigan in 2022 and now has a physical studio to offer painting classes as well as open art studio for others to use for making art and working on projects.

We offer a full calendar of group classes, open studio time, and individual instruction by appointment.

Nola Creative Arts, LLC is a proud supporter of the Cheboygan Area arts community. Christine Nola serves on the Cheboygan Area Art Vision committee, whose mission is to celebrate community and inspire creativity, by bringing bright, colorful, and interactive art to Cheboygan.

At Nola Creative Arts, we hope to unlock the creative potential within each individual. Our art studio in Downtown Cheboygan provides a welcoming and collaborative space where we offer group painting classes and individual instruction.

Whether youʼre a beginner or an experienced artist, our classes are designed to inspire and encourage artistic exploration. Join us and discover the joy of creative expression!

Meet Christine Nola

I opened my studio to provide people a relaxing, inviting space to make art. My hope is that people will explore their creativity, develop their skills, and make more art!

I believe everyone can learn to make art. I teach my students how to choose and mix colors, different painting techniques, and how to create a painting from start to finish. I don’t just give my students a pre-drawn image to paint. I teach with patience and joy because those are the skills I’ve been gifted.

Studio Drop-In

Come visit my art studio in Downtown Cheboygan and use my supplies including easels, brushes, paint, paper towels and palettes. Bring your own canvas or watercolor paper or purchase mine.

$10 per session

Group Classes

I offer group painting classes, craft nights, and more. Come join in the fun of making art with friends. Group classes vary in price by the location, but those held at the studio are typically $25 per person.

$25 per person

Individual Instruction

I offer individual instruction by appointment in my studio. I can teach you the fundamentals of composition, color selection, mixing colors, how to select the right tool: brush, palette knife, sponge, etc.
